Good health is probably more important than fitness, and some might argue that you have to have good health before you can get fit. Good health should definitely be considered before starting an exercise routine. Before trying to get yourself fit, with an exercise routine, and diet, you should ask yourself certain questions concerning your own health. Am I ready for an exercise routine, Am I healthy enough, what changes should I make before I get started, do I need to change my diet. Before starting a routine, it is probably a good idea to see a doctor, to make sure that you don't have an existing condition that would make this dangerous. Tell your doctor what you are planning, so that he can check you out better, to give his valued opinion. Make sure you don't have a heart condition, any type of back problem, an old injury that might reoccur. If you are excessively over weight he might suggest changes to your diet, or diet in combination with walking, at first. It is important to feed your body properly. Many people avoid foods that are good for their bodies, because they have allowed themselves to develop a different taste for food, migrating more toward foods that they like to eat or foods that are more convenient. Some people take vitamins to make up for the fact that they are not eating properly. This is probably better than nothing, but there are a lot of different opinions about vitamins. Vegetables, and fruits grow from the earth for a good reason. These are foods our bodies need. We should ask ourselves, do I eat enough fruits and vegetables. We should eat fruits and vegetables every day. There are many ways to prepare fruits and vegetables to make them more palatable, and the truth is after we start eating this way, our taste buds adapt to our new diet and we find that we actually like the taste. Fruits and vegetables are not enough to properly sustain us. Our bodies need carbohydrates, fats, fiber, minerals, protein, vitamins, and water, and these nutritions are found in a wide variety of foods such as grains meat and poultry, beans, nuts, some oils, and dairy products.Nutrition is simply, providing to the cells and organisms, the materials necessary, in the form of food to create proper metabolism within the body. Nutrition gives us energy as well as help in production of new cells. We all have different nutritional needs for various reasons. We are all different sizes and shapes, some of us are bigger, some smaller. Some of us have a higher rate of metabolism. Our bodies process the food we eat some faster, some slower. We all have different levels of activities, and lifestyles. Some of us have physically demanding jobs in weather conditions that can create more stress for the body. Some have jobs that don't require a lot of physical activity. All of us require different amounts of the various nutritions, depending on these various factors. A diet should be constructed on a personal level, taking into consideration each persons size, metabolic rate, activity level, and personal preferences. There are many different ways to get fit depending on what you want to accomplish. Know where you need to start and set reasonable goals. If you just want to lose weight, or need to lose weight before starting a workout routine that involves jogging , weight lifting or using equipment, or services at a local gym, this can be accomplished by just improving your diet, but also by walking, and doing stretching exercises. Stretching exercises that completely extend and contract your muscles can help you lose weight and help add shape to your body. This may seem to easy, and it probably is. For many people, the hardest part of a diet or exercise routine is getting started and keeping themselves motivated. Many think its supposed to be hard, or hurt and thats absolutely not true. If you just want to trim some fat, flatten your abs, or shape your body this can be accomplished easily. You will eventually see changes in your weight if you are successful at making good changes to your diet. Good changes can make you feel better, and give you more energy to help you through your day, and also help you with a short workout of about 20 minutes. These workouts can increase your weight loss, strengthen, firm muscles and shape desired parts of your body. These workouts can be done at home with no equipment except maybe a mat or thick blanket.Walking, jogging or bike riding can also help you lose weight and add shape to the lower parts of your body. If you want to strengthen your body or increase muscle mass by weight lifting, this should be approached with care and planning. Weight lifting, whether it is free weights, or stationary weight systems such as a universal gym, which has different stations around it to do work different parts of the body, are more beneficial when you know as much about it as possible. Learning the different muscles we have, and how they are meant to be used, how they can best be exercised to create the desired results, and how to properly use the equipment will make a big difference in how much you enjoy it and are able to take advantage of its benefits, and keep you from getting injured. With free weights it is important to have a spotter or a partner to make sure you don't get in a dangerous situation. If you don't warm up properly, or if you try to lift or press a weight that is too heavy it could result in injury.
